Hi Peter,

Of course there is EchoLink in the Himalayas, the Rockies, Alps, even at 
the bottom of the Grand Canyon. There is always plenty of echo even when 
there is no link, all you need is a reflective surface and you get plenty 
of echo. There aren't any telephones on the Materhorn, but plenty of 
"Yodelay heeee HOOOOO!" (Ricola if you prefer.) Careful though, the link 
tones closely resemble the mating call of the Yeti.
