Just recently here in Sydney a Hong Kong citizen has been arrested and charged
with allegedly fitting a small card reader just below the card entry slot on
an atm. There was also fitted a small camera overhead so that the pin number
being entered could be seen.
When the ATM user slid his card into the slot the little reader transmitted
the data and the TV camera transmitted the picture of the pin number being
entered. A new card was produced and used to extract several hundred thousand
dollars. So look out for a small rectangular box fitted just below the slot.
These gangs operate internationally so expect to see them elsewhere.
