Greetings to all interested readers.

I joined the club of problems with the 399 version of AVG which came out
last week. Not having a CD burner I have not experienced that particular
one.

In my case it started with an auto download from the Czech site. It ran OK
to about 75% and then stopped. An auto connection could not be
re-established either there or at the USA site. I downloaded version 399
off the USA site after a manual connection and it appeared to be OK. That
was on the 10th Oct. The following day a friend downloaded his update and
it turned out to be version 401 with the same database number of 226 as
mine. So over the weekend I tried again. The USA site would not work
automatically and advised that the update had been corrupted. I tried
again at the Czech and got an extremely short upgrade to 399 and noted
that it brought my signature base to version 401.

It appears to work OK so I suspect that the problem has been solved but it
is interesting to have observed the corruption notice from the US site.

So now, can anyone tell me whether the update 401 is actually showing any
problems? I note that in all messages that have reached here only the 399
version has given operating trouble. I use mine with Win 98 SE. I might
also say that I generally use the Czech site in preference to the USA one
for my upgrades.
