Hia, And thank you for the info, Although in this case that does not seem
to be the problem, There are No Microsoft / Windows faults reported, not
even in the debug log..

On a closer look at the problem, it affects the CD Writer if installed,
Dosent matter which software, as now Nero and 2 others have been named as
having a problem with the update..

The second problem is that it then Blocks AVG from connecting to the
internet web site, ONLY the AVG Update seems to be blocked, I used the
built in bug report editor to create the e-mail to AVG, That then
passed the info over to outlook distress and pasted in all the relevant
info about the system. Distress then connected ok and sent the mail.

So I tried the update again, Nothing happend at all, it dosent even
attempt
to connect to the internet..

The Third Problem noted was that with the new avg installed and connected
to the web, popup's for multiple porn sites were loaded, even though
nothing else was loaded and the person concerned had never visited an
"ADULT" site of any form...

To verify this I loaded the update on to one of the laptops with win95 on
it, Theres no cd writer on the laptop, But it did interfere with the drive
and made it impossible to read what was on the cd in the drive, I then
connected to the internet via its 56k modem, before it had even loaded
the home page it was set to, the desktop filled up with popup porn sites..

So it looks rather like the software thats available on the grisoft web
site has been compromised by persons unknown..

running the software through a sector editor to compare the old with the
new, there are massive differences in the code and there appears to be
viral like code..

Trends pc-cillin 2002 reports back that an unknown virus string has been
detected, and it advises to check with the software vendor, as it could be
a false positive, it could of course be that its found part of the avg
data file and has treated that as an unknown virus..

Its found something its not 100% happy with..

All we can do at the moment is to wait for grisoft to reply to the e-mails
/ update the software / website.
