Further to the Coleman=Tilley discussion. I went today to the local
camping outfitter Trailblazers. They have Coleman lamps there a-plenty -
all sorts shapes and sizes, gas powered, electric and - yes- pressure
lamps using kerosene. The pressure lamps are not much different from what
I remembered from 60 years ago and more except for the price. At $210
Australian they are not cheap. There were no Tilley lamps there but the
ones I remember from my youth were also pressure lamps using kerosene. The
other lamp in the shop was by Primus - all propane powered(or butane -
take your pick).
I am not contradicting the one who remembered the Coleman table lamps so
don't get me wrong. I said we didn't have them here under that name.
