Oi YOU or if I may Charlie,
Yeah, back to that again, sometimes I can't resist. (;->)
Thanks for the U.N.C.L.E. bit, in those days the spy stuff was more like
sci-fi. Napoleon should have been Solo, Ilyitis Curiouscocken made for a
lousy Russian. Too bad Bill Cosby was tied up with another inept partner
or he could have worked alongside your guy. Would you belive The Prisoner
is still running here? Hmmm, Diana Rigg would have made a great Cat
Woman...
I don't know how that escaped, but now that I'm under control, saying
one's callsign after the word "break" would be helpful. I omitted that
figuring it was understood.
Yeah, FM QSOs are very informal and being they're usually armchair copy
repetition is a pain in the butt. An ID every 10 minutes after the
beginning of the QSO (or whatever your regs say) is all that is needed.
We just use names and leave it at that when passing it around. THAT
reminds me of another liddy practice, saying KB2VXA for ID. Like, what
the heck else??? I goof on them by saying "just to keep Sir Riley of
Hollingsworth happy. Riley Hollingsworth being the head honcho at the FCC
enforcement buro, to some a knight in shining armor.
BTW, I spelt it "buro" on purpose being it's a reference to burocrat, the
buro being properly called the American ass. HEY, no comments from the
peanut gallery, the donkey and the ass are different species!
While you're off polishing your QSO practices, I'm polishing a part of my
spark gap rig, but I can't say just WHAT part...
Hint: Hertz's houskeeper polished them.
