Hi Bob,
VHF across the bight without a computer? Hmmm, a computer works on bits,
eight to a bight. So, if that tropo is absent, do your signals go out a
bit? Sure, when the band is open they have a bight! (OUCH)
That reminds me, as I mentioned, I work tropo up and down the coast, but
somehow it doesn't get the QSLs on packet that it does with other modes.
I can connect to many BBSes when 2M opens and have done so, leaving
messages for the sysop. Not so much as a reply let alone a QSL. I wonder
why this is so, it's a contact same as any other. BTW, I gave up.
FYI, I never answer those bulls requesting a QSL, they're not QSOs, not
even contacts, just another posted bull. Just who should send the card
anyway? Certainly not the one on the other end, it's like QSLing a
repeater, MANY of them and often with landline links too. The sysop of
the local BBS? All the sysops in the path? The telephone company?
Now I'm wondering if that comment will start a line of reason or another
can of worms. (;->)
