Another one I saw in the mid fifties (as a kid) was the demonstration of
the power of the motor by having a machine (or machines) mounted upright,
and a ping-pong ball in the exhaust stream, visually demonstrating the
difference between makes. Thus the higher the ball the bigger the
suck(er?)
At 7 or 8 y.o., physics was not a strong point. What lengths they went
to for a sale. (But nothing has changed much now has it?)
