Hi Allen and All,
Sorry, not ALL were safe, there was one double adapter at least that
could be trouble. The one I'm thinking of would now be quite old, made
perhaps in the 1930's or 40's. It was made in the shape of a 'Y' . The
connection to the main outlet was at the base of the 'Y', and the two new
outlets on the top of the 'Y'. The trouble was that one of the outlets was
upside down to the other one and the input. This made it easier to make,
but ment that the Phase (Active, HOT Live etc) and the Neutral were
reversed. Most things should work OK, but if a serviceman was working on it
and did not know about it, it could prove... well... deadly!
