Hello Ian and followers,

Thanks for your reply to my bulletin, 'Balloon Finale' I think, and your
introduction of the 'lead balloon'(balloon in reverse): just what we needed
to keep the pot on the boil! Yes, I did confuse you with Harry, but I don't
think that's being unkind. He's got a lot to answer for too!

You seem to have a talent for hitting the 'GO' button and make people jump
to the wrong conclusion. Shame on you! All this fuss about males and females,
and what goes where, went astray when your phantom plug/socket appeared on
your bench. Now you are floating the bright idea of anti gravity!

I think it was Warren who brought Einstein into the balloon saga, and I then
had a dig at Pete about his 'Sir Isaac Newton' and Einstein's notion of
relative frames of reference which puts everything it's place. Depends on
your viewing point, time is relative not universal etc. I don't understand
it; I'm having a hard time with Steve Hawking and his 'Brief History of Time'.

BTW, (that's Warren again) I have an interest in satellites and mechanics of
orbiting objects. The universal gravitational constant applies to all of
the man made or natural objects in space; but I wonder if it applies to the
water droplets that make up a cloud. The masses of cumulus, and cumulonimbus
that form and remain for many minutes, are only dispersed by wind, sun, or
rain. If the water droplets have the same electric charge, they would tend to
repel but if your gravitational attraction and their close, near contact,
overcame that, it would explain the cloud lingering on.

Now what are you going to say about that!

73. Dick. VK3ABK.
