Hello Mr. Elder Statesman, Sir,
To begin with, please stop with the (sic) every other word, it's most
annoying.
OK, end of gripe.
You forgot to mention that bathroom wall switches are flush mounted,
except in those primitive public toilets you mentioned. YUUUUCH!
Here it is uncommon for bathroom switches to be mounted outside the
bathroom, maybe those Brits don't know how to ground them? (;->)
Another thing you forgot is the water in your toilets swirls backward!
Those you mentioned that frighten people are the water saving power flush
type, common here in public buildings. They would never work in private
dwellings, especially rentals because the cheap plumbing won't supply
sufficient pressure. Instead, the government in it's infinite wisdom
mandated water saving toilets with smaller tanks. The old ones worked
just fine, but these have to be flushed several times to get the fish to
swim away. They go around in circles, round and round and round. We end
up using three to four times more water than before!
BTW, no problem with bits dangling in the water unless you go to France
and sit on the bidet, mistaking it for a toilet. You get an even bigger
surprise when you flush it!
Hissing toilets aren't exclusive to aeroplanes, we have them on trains
too. Do the doors on your compartments have little signs saying "do not
flush while standing in station" or are the tracks vislat the bottom
of the toilet? Yeah, when I was young I hated to use the crapper on the
Central Railroad in winter.
BTW, how the heck did we get from electrical wiring to toilets? Potty
humor or is this just a s****y little story?
