Language differences can be VERY embarressing !
Many years ago I was in the UK working for six months and was in need of some
sticky tape to tape a circuit diagram together that had become torn.
I went into the office and asked to evryone in general if they had
some Durex. The girls in the office stopped immeadiatly, looked around and
starte giggling. One of the males in the office had his jaw on the floor.
Non plussed by the reaction I looked around and saw some on a desk.
Picked it up and walked out.
I was followed by the afforsaid male who explained that in the UK Durex has
something to do with correspondance in French !
