Hi Dickanol,
Haven't you noticed I am more full of hot air than ANY April issue of Q
Street? Well, maybe you have but you failed to pick on my tag line like
everybody else does.
OF COURSE! ANY lid knows that if you bury a vertical the "phantom"
appears above ground as the stealth antenna. Why ELSE would he bury the
antenna? The trouble is being the phantom is above ground and the active
element below, it only works on the ground wave. Being I live on the
ocean, I take my HT under water and talk to submarines.
I gave up the Sunday "funny papers" for a packet BBS years ago. I'm not
up on todays cartoonists actually. One thing I HAVE noticed for years,
New Jersey is a funny state. Everybody makes fun of it and it's towns,
but they should take a closer look at the map. You can have a lot of fun
with Mawah, Middlesex, Cherry Hill, and POINT Pleasant Beach. Heck, if I
simply made a list of potentially funny names I would clog the BBS!
Then we make up names like Lizardbreath (Elizabeth) and Constipated Creek
(Bound Brook).
It only gets worse, better quit while I'm a head.

LID: Wants to work ground wave, buries antenna.
