Hi Warrenn and bystanders.
Please don't cloud the issue by saying: "You may be a bit confused, you
seem to have overlooked the word "practical" when I mentioned who was
first."
No, I was not and am not confused nor did I overlook your word "practical"
any more than I did not overlook your phrase " OK, now's my chance to have
a bit more fun."
When I wrote, "In 1926 in England, John L. Baird first demonstrated a true
television system by electrically transmitting moving pictures." this last
event is practically practical. Were it not so, then I fail to grasp how
Baird was able to "demonstrate" his system.
When I wrote, "In 1932 the Radio Corporation of America demonstrated
all-electronic television using a camera tube called the iconoscope
(patented by Vladimir Zworykin in 1923) and a cathode-ray tube in the
receiver." you state that we Brits were not six years ahead of you Yanks
and that you (Yanks) were working on "paralell inventions like so many
others."
Well I'm not talking about patents Warrenn or parallel inventions. I am
saying, emphatically, that Baird DEMONSTRATED his "TRUE television system"
in 1926 and the RCA DEMONSTRATED television in 1932.
These FACTS are unalterable Warren and though not in accordance with your
American ideals and interests shall remain incommutable.
Stop wriggling and squirming and putting up smoke screens when you KNOW
(if you will be honest with yourself) that we were first. Of course, you
DO know, which is why you said, "You won't get one bit of arguement from
me since we agree completely."
That's okay then. :)
Have a happy July fourth...
