A friend of mine has a PC which, although slower, brings up it's screens
like greased lightening.

I finally got the adjustment out of him and tried it; now mine runs
faster.

Can't say I know why, though. Heres how.

Go to Run type regedit, which brings up the register editor.
Use search and type in MAXCONNECTIONSPERSERVER.

The line will appear. The default is normally 2.
You can change this to 4,8,16 or 32 but he uses 16.

This does nothing to an ISP connecton or a LAN. Neither are you
overclocking.

He has used this on XP, like me, and other MSoft OSs before that. He now
runs Vista which, he says, doesn't need it.

If anyone knows just what it is doing, I would like to know.

p.s. Please restrain yourselves from insulting me. I am just about to give
up packet and years of insults have been a contributing factor.
