I have just spent nigh on two hours mulling over over what I was writing
and composing DOWSER19. As I looked down at the keyboard and typed, I
suddenly realised that something was not right. I looked up instantly and
the PC was closing down!!! I could not stop it, even with a few
CTRL-BRKS!! I watched in horror as my work disappeared down the PC toilet.
:-((((((((((((

Now I know all about backups. (Yes, I know. It shows!) For a LONGGGGGG
time, I have written any important document in Word and SAVE'd REGULARLY
in order to have at least a major portion of it saved if a crash ever
occurred again.

Returning to Winpack after an absence, I foolishly started to write in the
Winpack editor window live, sending it "off the cuff". My stupid mistake.
I paid for that mistake. I will not do it again. I hope! I had several
1,000 words written and although I can no doubt replicate much of it, the
heart went out of me at its disappearance. :-((

I do not know WHY it closed down, perhaps my keystrokes had a significance
unknown to me. I am a poor touch typist and tend to look at the keyboard
rather than the screen in case I hit the wrong keys. Perhaps a mail
programme, or some other progamme, came up "on queue" so to speak without
my realising. Whatever the reason, I am trying to see if some remnant of
the DOWSER might be lurking in some TEMP or other folder, somewhere on the
hard drive.

Can anyone tell me. IS there a particular folder\directory where ANY
written information might be\is held on the hard drive? Is it possible
that I may find it with a judicious search using some unknown search word?

Using such programmes as WORD many years ago, I know that WORD and others
save on command, or as set up in the OPTIONS and that several levels of
backup can be saved automatically. Winpack however is a different thing
altogether. Is it possible that some of this dowser19 may be able to be
regurgitated? Or is it gone forever? Probably. Maybe not though, hence
this request.

Obviously I can not wait forever for an answer as I will have to do it
again :-( but if it is possible that it could certainly come in useful in
the future! Thank you for your time. Frustrated.
