 Hi John

 This looks like it is chasing a certain driver, obviously not available
 in that PC now. I am not dead sure of that diagnosis. UnInstall it! <?>
 However I have run USB ports under W98se with a third party driver for
 a Jump/Thumb/Flash Drive.

 Try a search for:  UStorageWin98Driver2.3.exe    Size: 865 kB
