It is possible that the CPU fan is maybe the cause, as sometimes they get
a bit out of balance with dust buildup, or slightly dry in the bearing, or
it could be the fan in the PSU doing the same thing. I have struck both of
these with various PC's, and sometimes it is a frifhtening sound. This one
at present cycles into a minor hum/vibration sound. I suspect the CPU
fan.

The CPU fan is often near the HDD so unless it is seen inside and
identified, then misdiagnosos could result. PSU fan is further away, but
the sound transfer through the case cuold lead to the same conlusion.

Opening the case will enable you to more closely pinpoint the culprit.
