You indeed don't really see any difference after converting a disk
from FAT32 to NTFS, as everything installed with and under W2000 Pro
or Win XP just keeps working fine.
However, NTFS is quite a bit more efficient than FAT32. Certainly
when looking to the block sizes, which in FAT32 have to increase
in size with the capacity of the disk in which 32k is certainly
not unusual.
Well, any file on the disk will minimaly use a cluster of 32kB
in this case, even if it is only a file of 100 bytes!
NTFS can work with clusters of 512 bytes and maybe even less.
So, that's why you will have more diskspace available, at least
efficient disk space, than with FAT32.
