John Allaway G3FKM Silent Key
The Secretary of IARU Region1 John Allaway, G3FKM, died March 3, 1999
after a lengthy illness.
After many years of work for Amateur Radio on a national level,
John was elected Chairman of the IARU Region 1 HF Committee in
1981. In 1984 he was elected Secretary of the organization.
John was honoured by many national societies for his excellent work.
NRRL made him a Knight of the Order of the Golden Key in 1997.
IARU Region 1 has suffered a great loss by the death of G3FKM.
