The re-structuring of RAC policy to address the proper and ethical
practices to be followed during RAC ELECTIONS will hopefully insure
that neither CANDIDATES FOR ELECTED RAC OFFICES, nor expressely
PROHIBITED IMPROPER INTERFERENCE with a RAC election by an
affiliated organization ( read the aforementioned as IARU)
shall be allowed or tolerated!
It has been and will continue to be MY self appointed task to observe
the activities and policies of RAC.
The only effective enforcement of Truth and Ethical practice is to
be prepared to drag the culprits who ABUSE THE PROCESS, into the
LIGHT of PUBLIC EXPOSURE and introduce them to the condemnation
of their peers, i.e. the radio amateurs of Canada.
Many of you will by now be aware that during the recent Election
for RAC Director Ontario South, improper support for the Incumbent
VE3DSS Dana Shtun was provided by VE3CDM Tom Atkins the President
of IARU REGION 2, an affiliated organization of RAC.
To date Atkins has not seen fit to offer the apology demanded of him
by RAC and the amateur community.
It is my hope that the action by RAC to review its policies in this area
will profit RAC, its members, and Canadian Amateurs.
IF YOU DO NOT SUBMIT YOUR APOLOGY TO RAC AND ALL CANADIAN AMATEURS
VE3CDM, TOM ATKINS , THEN SUBMIT YOUR RESIGNATION TO IARU AND LET
THE REST OF US WASH THE STAIN OF YOUR ACTIONS FROM OUR REPUTATION!

The RAC Board of Directors has commissioned Robert Kirkpatrick,
VE9VAR, to review and recommend ways and means of ensuring RAC's
autonomy in its relations with affiliated organizations and to
establish clear directives for the role of its officials during RAC
elections.
The Board seeks to bring about an effective measure of control with
respect to the actions of RAC officials and that of officials of
other Amateur Radio organizations during RAC elections.
Bob, a Transport Canada retiree, has served community service
institutions and public service organizations with distinction during
his career. He will consult with Radio Amateurs and others on this
important matter.
For more details see the January issue of TCA!
