WINPACK USERS.
Hi all,
For those who may want to have a go at sending HTML
bulletins, but don't know what to do, here's a few tips.
First you need CNV2HTML.EXE, CNV2HTML.INI, and CNV2HTML.TXT.
These are placed in Winpack\Servers\Send.
For sending you need some templates, though just one will do.
These are placed in Winpack\Template. The problem with most
templates are they have to much html code. Which make them
large, up to 5k, just to send a few lines of text. This being
the main reason for complaints.
Also many have backgrounds, gifs and jpg pictures. So to see
the whole HTML, the reader has to have them. These are kept in
Winpack\HTMLIB. The trouble here being you could end up having
hundreds of them. Most of which are never used. So really you
only need a dozen or so of the most widely used.
Or you don't need any, as in this HTML you are reading.
For viewing, HTMLVIEW works fine.
I'm not very good at explaining things in writing, but I hope
this helps. So if anyone can improve on this Bulletin, please
go ahead.
PS. Like how or where to get the programs you need.
