Hello Andy!

The whole secret (and not really a secret) to life is YOUR (meaning
everybodies) attitude. Life is what you make it! The same applies to
Packet Radio or any other form of radio communications.

There was a time, in my life, when pressures on me caused me to lash out
at everybody. The only result, from that, was that I made MYSELF
miserable.

Ham Radio is a HOBBY and as such is supposed to take you away from lifes
problems and allow you to enjoy the company of others and have a good
time.

I am not in the position to judge anyone for there actions because I "have
been there and done that". I grew up frvering my own bad
judgement at that time. What I am saying is to realize what is wrong and
correct it. You will gain the most from it, not to say those that have to
put up with it.

No two people look at a situation with the same view, depending how they
were brought up in life. It is only natural for people to have differing
viewpoints on a subject. SO, suck it up and let it go and GET ON WITH
HAVING A GOOD RELAXING TIME WITH YOUR >><<<.

It's kind of like coming home from work. Leave your work problems at
work, don't bring them home!

Like I said before, stick with positive thinking people and your attitude
will become more positive and so will your enjoyment of life (and your
hobby).

Andy is absolutely correct about the so called "dead bands" It has
happened to me numerous times. The bands are usually dead because the
hams are not thinking positive. While the band might not be open to your
favorite DX location, you could wind up with the rarest of the rarest DX
due to a different propogation.

Do you remember the times you were calling CQ and no one answers, so you
wonder if you were getting out! Remember that thought are
sitting there listening to a CQ that is NOT being answered. HMMMMMMMMMM!!

The moral of this story is simply "ham radio (your hobby) is only as good
as YOU make it"! Don't sit back and expect OTHERS to make it good for
you!

Happy New Year to all!
