Fellow Amateur,

I am raising interest locally in setting up a new packet node.

My main arguments are (in brief):-

1. It will benefit amateurs locally as they will be able to access the packet network.
2. Other packet users world-wide will also benefit.
3. The packet network itself may eventually gain from extra inter-node routing.

By simply trying to raise interest locally I am actually making some initial progress,
but support is essential:- I'm a packet user, not an expert.

Individual help will surely be needed at some point, but it seems to me that what is
desperately needed is a concise, up-to-date document on how to set up a node step by step.
This should cover all aspects; location, licence, frequencies, radios, software, etc.

Not only could such a document then be used by many other people, it could be
circulated in order to generate interest in its own right.

I have not yet been able to find any person or group with responsibility for looking
after the overall planning of the packet network.

Please get in touch with me if you have any useful information, or feel inspired to help.

Regards,
Phil
