You wont be able to make one as cheap as you can buy one from somewhere in
Hong Kong on eBay.
However, you can buy USB to RS232 modules from FTDI in Glasgow. The rest of
the CAT circuit is the same as all the published circuits but you stick it
onto the FTDI module.
Buy one from eBay. Even though all respectable hams should really build
something like this there is little point when it will cost you more than
twice what they cost from the far east.
Don't buy one from the G4 in Doncaster.
