Thank you for the replies on this one but still a problem ?
Removed the drive: Western Digital WD 1200BEVS Serial ATA Drive 6th Feb 2007.
There is an adaptor but on removing it has an edge connection ?
I have an externat HD with a SATA drive and it is certainly not the same
connections nor will it fit anything I have so I am still stuck.
Will look on WD Sight for any info later today but it looks as if I will have
to obtain some sort of adaptor or find another laptop / Notebook it will fit.
My guess is another PC aproach could be a problem as no doubt they have tried
to switch it on many times so problem 1 and another HP laptop may not even
have the same boot sequence, getting over that should not be to difficult as
I may be able to boot to a Command prompt.
No Floppy as suggested by one reply and booting to a memory stick would not
work unless the BIOS was set for that.
Will also look for Serial ATA to IDE adaptor if available but any further
suggestions welcome ? What is an ATA drive anyway ?
Thank you once again.
