That is very odd...
My ISP provides me with a dynamic IP, but I can retain that dynamic IP for
months and months - usually until I have a power cut or decide to reset the
router. Often even when I reset the router it will come back on with the same
IP. My router is on 24/7 and I think my record for retaining the same IP was
around 9 months.
My best guess would be that either the router is resetting itself, or that you
have such a poor broadband connection that it keeps retraining itself and
reconnecting. Could you not check the S/N figures for the connection reported
by the router? Is there a logging system built into the router where it can
log the reconnects?
I came across some software a while back which can interrogate and log on your
PC, the S/N - sorry must fly called out!
