Concerning OLIVIA you worte OLiva as a not very efficient mode in reference to
PKS..

Sri but I proceed PKS since years and OLIVIA since last year.
By my experiences I could communicate with far distante stations even in
condition at present time where I did not hear any !! frommy loudspeaker.

I remember an afternoon last November as I on a blank waterfall saw
immediatelly a 4s7 station calling cq.. Without any hope (30 watts//multiband
delta loop) I responded and had a very nicechat with that ham.

USA and other DX came to me by this mode despite the "lousy" condx..

I thing OLIVIA is the present standard of safe dx modes..

What I personally dislike: Slow writing.. Oh yes, you can switch from 32 to 16
or 8 tones, but very few are willing to do it..

It efen is true that the standard at present time is 1 kHz but even here you
can reduce it to 500 or eve 250 Hz..

I do not tend to say: This one is better that the other one, it is a question
what you want to do. Both have their value

With kindly regards and a happy qso in one mode or the other
Klaus, voice of reason
(dl8ol, pse remind it!)
