Hello Gordon,
Isn't modern technology wonderful! What was so simple just a
few years ago with DOS, is now an almost impossible task. Just one reason
why I still use DOS.
If it's a packet bulletin that you're wanting to print, and you are using
a terminal programme running in windoze, then you may be able to print the
file via your terminal programme. Another obvious solution is to keep an old
PC and printer for the times that you need to print these files.

Bryan G0SYR suggested finding a suitable font for your application to use.
I had a look just now on my windoze test box for MSdraw or Terminal fonts but
couldn't find either.
One thing to keep in mind about fonts is that the ASCII characters used to
make these circuit diagrams would have been 8x16 bit mapped types coming from
the BIOS on the video card, but the fonts used in GUIs are probably all of
the "stroked" variety. Stroked fonts can be enlarged and still retain smooth
curves and lines whereas bit mapped characters become jagged when enlarged.

While I was trying things on my windoze box, I found an interesting feature
of ms word. I made a test file, which I have put out on packet with the title
of "ASCII > 128", to try out the various windoze editor programmes. When I
opened the file in ms word, a box came up on the screen with a "File
Translation" title. There were all sorts of selections such as Greek DOS,
Korean, Japanese etc. One of the selections was "OEM United States", which
I chose. All the characters in my test file were then displayed properly.
While this is all very good, I can't find any way to access this "File
Translation" feature at will. Maybe a windoze aficionado would know how
to do this. So maybe it's possible to print your files out with ms word
if you know how to open the magic box.
