Funny thing I just put this on the local BBS.

Ok I have come to accept the fact that some Hams will pay 200Uk pounds
for a thing called a Rigblaster and accept the inconvenience of needing to
plug that into the microphone socket of their rig.
Rather than pick up a soldering iron, a 13 or 8 pin data plug, 3 bits of
wire, a transitor, 2 transformers, 2 diodes, 2 resistors and a D plug. 10
Uk pounds worth of stuff at the most and gain convenience.

I accept but can for the life of me understand it.
It is the same with the TNC.

(message sent on ALL mode interface made for a couple of quid)

WARNING interface construction may involve the use of a soldering iron.
