OK, so not the same as in the visual basic editor.. one learns and weeps.
I hadn't thought you would be fooled by the radians, or I would have
mentioned that you can usually use the function DEGREES(x) to convert to
degrees.
It's the same as what you did, but it looks nice in your cell, hi.
There's also a RADIANS(x) to do the reverse.
Of course ATAN, or rather your division, will explode if you have a pure
reactance.
There is an ATAN2 around, which will accept the two values for (in your
case) R and X and return a correct answer even if it is 90 degrees.
I would be surprised if it were not in Excel as well.
Oh, and I know nothing about this PDA transfer question, but I'll ask
around.
