It sounds like you're using a DOS machine.

PKZIP.EXE would need to be either:
 a. in a directory listed in the PATH line in AUTOEXEC.BAT or
 b. in the same directory as the picture file.

Are you sure that ZIPping a picture file will be of much use?  I've found that
JPG files hardly compress at all.  (BMP files however do compress down to a
fraction of their original size)
