Subject: Alinco DR-135T
I have been using my DR-135 for several days and it works OK except
that on the AM 118-135MHZ Aviation Band I receive a shortwave station
thoughout the entire band that is operating on the IF frequency of
21.7MHZ. Can you check your radio to see if you have the same problem?
Thanks,
Boykin, KD4AJJ

Subject: New list for digital ham/public service.
Hi all, I started a new list with web viewable content at:
http://www.egroups.com/group/psk31relay
This list is for experimenting with the use of digital ham radio for
relaying messages from remote areas using ham radio to bridge the gap
in communications then the Internet to make the information available
to the public.
Lots more information at site in signature.
Thanks, Dale

Very good thought about the monitor. Another thing you might want to check
out is
the susceptibility of the antenna input. I have a Pentium II-233 laptop
kissed
right up to my old TS-140S. If there are any loose or less-than-perfect
connections through the tuner, SWR bridge, coax jumpers, etc., the receiver
just
roars. If all the connections are made up correctly, it's quiet. I'm
assuming
you're not using something like an indoor antenna, or a very low, close
antenna or
an open feedline into the shack. If the antenna is far enough away not to
pick up
a majority of the noise, the rest of the system should be able to keep it out.
You might also try some ferrite on the outside of the coax in various places
to
prevent noise currents from working their way to the antenna itself.
Some thoughts...
