increases product prices, but the guys from advertising agencies think I'm
nuts and that prices would increase tenfold when advertising wouldn't
exist. Like you, I fail to recognize how that could be true.

Do you have a interface that you can put onthe web for people to use?

Others have already published many interfaces on the web.
See the following:
http://www.qsl.net/wm2u/interface.html
http://www.w5bbr.com/soundbd.html
If you are lucky, you may NOT need any interface circuit. Try connecting
your sound card to your rig directly and use VOX.
If you experience ground loop problems, then use audio isolation
transformers on each line between the rig and computer's sound card.
If the audio levels are too high, use a resistor or POT on the audio lines.
If you want your computer's serial port to key the rig use the simple opto
isolator circuit shown on the web pages above. If you use the simpler one
transistor, one diode and one resistor circuit, you will defeat the purpose
of using the audio isolation transformers in the first place to break up the
ground loops.
If you really want to isolation you can use opto isolators also on the audio
lines. I don't think RIGBLASTER does this. But such a circuit can easily
be made. G3VFP has recently made such a circuit.

I highly doubt that MFJ is selling their simple TNC switch at cost.
If what you say is true then West Mountain Radio will quickly be put out of
business when someone else, like MFJ, starts selling a sound card interface
at a lower price.
But I think West Mountain Radio will more likely just drop their price.
I don't think it will be long before someone starts selling a similar
interface. Let's see what happens!!

I have to disagree regarding the RigBlaster and MFJ TNC switch box
being similar in complexity. I have both units. The MFJ is nothing
more than a box with one switch, some jumpers, 4 capacitors and some
connectors. The RigBlaster is far more complex, having one active
component (4N33) requiring a power transformer, 2 relays, 2
transformers, 10 resistors, 1 potentiometer, 2 switches, 12 diodes, 9
capacitors plus jumpers and connectors. The construction on the
RigBlaster is also superior to the MFJ. Just based on a comparison
with the selling price of the MFJ, I would say the RigBlaster is worth
