Subject: PK-900 question.
I have a PK-900 that has developed a strange problem. When switch to
transmit, the ptt will key for a period of time and then drop out. I
timed it (it has been a while ago) and it was either 30 seconds or 1
minute. Everything looks like it is still transmitting, but the ptt
has been dropped. I scoped it out and it looks like it is coming
directly from the processor chip so I think it is a software issue. I
reset it back to factory settings but that didn't help. I'm stumped. I
looked over the manual for a timeout option, but I didn't see it. I'm
testing it in RTTY mode.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Jim.

What do you want to connect it to, and using what software?
As a Baycom-type modem to the RS232 port?

Sorry I seem to have lost the Baycom pinouts. Hopefully someone else can
tell you for sure, but I believe it is:
Computer MODEM
CTS RXD
DTR TXD
GND GND
RTS to homebrew PTT circuit
using NPN transistor.

Howdy Guys,
Just as a change of pace how about a digital radio question?
I have been using TrueRTTY and am impressed with it as a
replacement for a TNC but there is one fly in the ointment.
There is an associated logging program AAlog that I have
been able to install on one of my computers but cannot
get it to install on my station computer. I get a general protection
fault on program Insinst30 during the installation. Has anyone
else had this problem and have you a solution.
Thanks for any help.
