Subject: $20.00 Aisin GPS board
I just connected the GST-2 chip to my Aisin board and am using VisualGPS to
view the incoming data. It says I'm at 35 degrees North and 135 East. I'm
located at 49 degrees North and around 117 degrees West. Has anyone else
had this problem or have any suggestions? Is there away to reset the board?
It's seeing at least 4 satellites, at least my Garmin in the same location
does. The clock seems OK..

Clinton,
Go to www.tapr.org and subscribe to the APRS SIG, which is the
general APRS mailing list...a very excellent list filled with lots of
knowledgable people, especially those who use this Aisin GPS board for
APRS.
For any other APRSers out there, be sure to subscribe to this
list, too! You'll be glad you did!

Isn't that the default location the Aisin outputs before it locks? If
it's had a hard reset, or it's new, then you need to leave it with a
clear view of the sky for 20 minutes or so before it will lock. Once
it's acquired lock, it will be a lot quicker the next time.

contest sponsored by me and the 6Plus Activity Club. If you have
suggestions for freqs in the 6meter and above range please let me know.
I will collect the data and add it to a website that I am currently
