Subject: SoundBlaster programming WIN95 how ??

Hi and thanks for reading this.
I would like to show the sound input to my soundcard on the screen as if the
screen was an oscilloscope, but just the part from around 500Hz to 2000Hz.
I'm using VB 6.0 and DirectX and have the DirectSoundBuffer accepting the
data and I can print it out. The buffer holding the data contains numbers
like 22363,29047,-31605,26988,-26736 How do I translate these back to
frequency and amplitude of the input signal ? Is this possible with
VB/DirectX or am I on the wrong track ? Is there another method I should be
using ? My goal, after plotting the waveform, is to write a basic RTTY
program then hopefully progress to some other modes.
If someone could point me in the right direction I'd really appreciate it.
Also, if anyone knows how to use the SoundBlaster for DSP or of any websites
that have code for any SoundBlaster DSP routines out there I'd like to know
where :)

RITTY seems to be DOS based.
What if you start it in DOS mode, not Windows.
Is your sound card working in DOS correctly?
Check it with any old game from the last century....
e.g. Commander Keen.

If you want to go with a decent Windows based RTTY program,
I have had good luck with TrueTTY by UA9OSV. It can be
found at http://ua9osv.hypermart.net/ Like it much better than
RITTY if for no other reason I don't have to shut down windows
and restart in DOS to be able to use it -- I can still use my radio
control program, etc while I use TrueTTY.

Hmmmmm, I guess Ohio is in a different part of the USA (OH boy do I ever
leave myself open for a shot there) but my phone has the same on it Ian.
Complete with the Q and the Z on the 7 and the 9. Perhaps as it is only 10
years old it is a "newer version".

Fred must buy his phones at Mendholsons, where they specialize in foreign
stuff!

All phones made in the far-east (I notice Oriental is now no longer
politically correct in America) or Mexico, have PQRS with the 7,
and WXYZ with the 9.

I'd say that was pretty much a standard.

Subject: Yaesu FT767GX CAT Interface HELP

Can anyone tell me if the CAT connector on my FT767GX is only for
interfacing with the Apple II/FIF-65A or can it be directly connected
to a PC through the Cat connector or any other means?

If it can be connected to a PC direct (without TNC) can you tell me
the pin connections on the PC side of the serial cable? ie: what
numbers on the serial cable correspond with the Cat pins numbers?

CAT PIN OUT

Pin 1= GND
Pin 2= Serial out
Pin 3= Serial in
Pin 4= PTT
Pin 5= AGC (0 to 4V Hi-Z)
Pin 6= NC

Also, What software could I use to control my radio from the computer?
I've looked at a couple, but no documentation seems to list my Rig, I
see the newer rigs listed, the 847, 1000's etc. but nothing for the
FT-767GX CAT

I would like to control Frequencies, modes, programming, split VFO,
etc. If the software was compatable with some logging software, all
the better.....I have tried DX4WIN, but there is no indication as to
weather or not it supports my rig or not.

Can anyone Help....If so, Thanks in advance. 73's
