For stations that cannot hear each other, but are heard by a commonality of
other stations, Net/ROM is one solution. Each TCP/IP station will have to
manually add into the ARP table the IP and Net/ROM addresses of the other.
Other than that, a dynamic IP router program (rspf, or something that supports
the RIP protocol, etc.) will be needed. These do not work on a "request for
route" theory, but do work on a "I have a route to X" available.

Been out of the scene for 5 years, but let me give this a shot from
memory...
Yes, you can do this, but station C has to be set up to be a
digipeater(a term from the golden age of packet) or a network router
running NETROM(or an equivelent), or of course, a TCP/IP router. I
remember doing this all the time out here in Riverside County... It was
just a matter of setting up the TCP/IP route tables correctly. I
remember doing some real cool stuff, like replying thru a second route,
that wasn't on the same frequency from the first route(so they wouldn't
interfere with each other), to get my transfer rates up.
By the way, if "station C" is NOT set up to digipeat, or route, forget
it... you can't hack that station to do your bidding.

Have a look at (X)NET which offers a lot of tcp/ip functionality:
http://www.qsl.net/dl1gji/
It runs on a variety of HW and OSs. Interesting in this context: (X)NET
offers a feature called "learning ARP".

Subject: Kantronics Interface pinouts?
Hello folks. Have this old-timer here, and would like to dust off the
Commodore C-128 and play with RTTY and keyboard generated CW (yeah, I know,
but I just want to try it). I have the Interface, I have the documentation
for the device, and I have a diskette with the software on it. Only problem
is that I do NOT have the cable to connect the computer to the Interface. Can
anyone provide either a pinout of the cable at each end or direct me to a
resource on the internet that can provide the info? I'm also interested in
connecting this little goodie to a PC, so a pinout of that cable would be
quite helpful as well. Thanks much!

Subject: MFJ 1289W program
Hello,
I have been using the MFJ-1289W Multicom software for years with Windows 3.1,
95, & 98. It works great. Just recently I did run into one problem with it.
I was going to switch monitors between my computer & my 10 year old daughter's
computer. She has an old regular VGA monitor and I have always run mine in
SVGA mode (800x600 versus 640x480). When I switched video modes to the
640x480, Multicom would not load. It came up with multiple errors. A switch
back to 800x600 & it was back to normal. I think what occurs is Multicom
needs
the higher resolution for SSTV & FAX modes. Otherwise, I have never had any
problems with this program. It is extremely user friendly. I use it with my
MFJ-1278B. I have never tried with any other TNC though.
If you have anymore questions, please feel free to ask. Good luck & 73's.
