However, note that the maximum baud rate allowed for U.S. stations on HF is
1200 baud (10m) and 300 baud (12m-160m).

HI MIKE
you should be able to use ANY 10 meter design mobile or base radio such
as the uniden 2510,2600, i have run packet on both these units with no
problems even the export 2950 that are out there will work we have
several guys that convert the old CB sets to function in the
28.080-28.200 area of the band.
packet is run on LSB other modes which include pactor, amtor, rtty, and
wefax(navtex)are also available on 10m
there are 2 data speeds you can use on 10 they are 1200 baud and 300
baud
stations not in the United states tend to use 1200 where most of the
domestic packet on hf is 300 baud
i hope this helps you some and good luck i might catch ya in there
someday

Hi!

Have a look at http://www.liebeck.de/70_breit/76k8eng.htm

You can get kits at http://www.giga-tech.de (although they seem to be
quite slow in response sometime and they speak German):
http://www.giga-tech.de/baus=E4tze.htm.

There is also a complete TRX available, great, but very expensive:
http://www.symek.com/tnc-g/trx4s.htm

You can get the modems (EPPFLEX) required from http://www.baycom.de.

Subject: AGWPE with YAM modem

I'm trying to get the AGWPE running with my YAM. It says
'AGWYAM driver not installed!' I unpacked drivers.zip into
my AGWPE directory (c:\ham\agwpe), there is agwyam.vxd in that
directory and the .mcs file.

What directory should I extract the vxd file into and how do
I 'install' it -- just unpack it? It doesn't work. :-(

The modem itself initialises fine with YAMINIT from the YAM web
site, so I don't think it's a hardware problem.

Appreciate any assistance with this...

thanks

Although 14.4k is possible, the next standard speed above 9600 is 19.2k.
