 I have seen similar resluts with the PK900 when it is 
 used in Host mode and HPOLL is enabled.  With this
 combination the TNC gets very slow.

 This condition gets worse when the packet channel
 is extremely busy (as in a DX cluster node).

 I tested this when I was developing XPDUAL and
 XPWIN and decided to run with HPOLL OFF.

Thanks for the info Gary. Pkterm '99 uses HPOLL off too on all the
aea/timeave TNCs, so it looks like your and my programs won't have the
slowdown problem they are running into with the others.
