Subject: FIF-232C AND PROGRAMMING

HELLO
I am trying to write a program to read the infos of the transceiver through
the FIF 232C Cat Interface. Can anybody give me some informations on how to
read the frequency and how to interpret the returned datas ?? It looks a
little
cryptic to me.
Thanks

When we were working on the basic rig control program for the new version
of Pacterm/Pkterm, I had to get docs for each Yaesu tranceiver. There are
many differences on the returned data packet based on which radio you're
using, and you have to parse that data based on the radio (bit parsing the
flag bits is the only way you're able to tell what state the radio is in).
The sending commands are just 5 byte values sent in reverse order to the
serial port. Pretty straightforward in the docs.

I have no detailed description, but I have converted those transceivers
years ago by just tacking on the wires at the connection points you
would expect.
(modulator and demodulator)

I put a 5-pin DIN receptacle with thread lock (round receptacle, not
the usual ones with side lugs) in the space of the backpanel antenna
connector, and used series resistors (10K, I believe) to protect the
electronics from shorts and other external mistakes.

It works reasonably well. Of course the relay clicking is irritating.

One thing you may or may not know: HF data is generally LOWER sideband,
regardless if you are on 80 meters or 10 meters....took me a while to figure
this one out...
What rig are you using? Sometimes you need to play with the bandpass and
filters to get good copy....

The problem is that both cannot copy a signal (rtty or
