It's not clever. I was stating that what may be a mode that is
legal in other parts of CFR Title 47, may one day be allowed in
Part 97. But not through any effort on your part.
I commented that you and the other brother Chuckles are complaining
about interfacing anything to Ham radio. But Ham radio is to serve
the public, and not just for Hams to exchange Out of Band modifications
and running their used equipment business over a BBS.
I also commented that you had provided zero leadership in the way of
Petitions to the FCC, or in talks at Hamfests. Rather than go out
and develop your cause, you and your best friend here, are trying to
dictate what Ham radio is all about on essentially a bulletin board,
and doing zero in the way of magazine articles, or public speaking,
or petitions to the FCC.
It has nothing to do with being clever. You can't just whine on this
group for 10 pages, and then not respond to criticism with a cute
one liner. Either you are passionate about your cause, or you are
just a spammer. I think it's the latter.

The idea of MSk is that there are no sudden phase jumps
on bit transitions. The frequencies of the two tones are
such that one of the bits is one full cycle of the low tone,
while the other bit is 1.5 cycles of the high tone. With
differential encoding it doesn't matter which is which.
To keep the phase transitions smooth the transmitter then
sends either a positive or negative version of the waveform
for the current bit, so as to match the slope with the
end of the previous bit. A diagram would really help here -
see any comms book...

Also, the modulation index is 0.5, so that the maximum
deviation is one half of the notional modulating
frequencies.

I would be more specific and suggest any modern comms
book dealing with cellular telephones, GSM in particular.
It's quite an eye-opener, having held a Radio Ham licence
for 29 years, I thought that I was well versed in matters of
radio technology, that is, until I worked on digital cellular
telephone development. It's certainly been a baptism of
fire these last few months! (Particularly WRT speech
encoding and error protection mechanisms)

Ok....thanks.
As far as it being "moved"....that's good for me as it's not as far,not
to mention less traffic. :)

Howdy,
New content is being added this week. Check out the SWL links, the DX news,
or
the Propagation Center.
I've moved the QSL and Callbook section off of the main page and onto a page
dedicated to just this information. And I've added a lot more to this
section.
So, come on by and check out my non-commercial SWLing/Ham Radio website. The
URL is http://hfradio.org and features DX information, including QSL
Route/Manager Lookups and Callbook Lookups; a Propagation Center including my
eAlert service (allows you to sign up with your email address. Then the
eAlert
system will send you email propagation reports. I use this with my pager.);
Equidistant Azimuth Map software (allows you to create maps of any QTH); Swap
and Shop; Bookstore (I've hand-picked over a thousand book titles on radio,
etc.); Free website space for YOU to create your own Ham or SWL site, and
there's more. Easy to navigate. Open for suggestions.
If you feel up to it, after looking around the site, drop me a note (you'll
find my address on the site) and share your thoughts.
