Hi all,
Maybe someone could forward this to Jeff as mail since it's for him
anyway, TNX.
One neat way to circumvent sysop bias is to use another BBS like you
said, but not quite the way you said it. You can always do a bit of node
hopping until you find one that carries my traffic and read it there. The
catch is DON'T REPLY nor send anything at all from that BBS or you'll
confuse the whole network with multiple H routes and addresses. Only ONE
home BBS is to be used.
You can always download what you want spooling to disk, thus saving the
bulls for reference. Then you can work with them in your text editor and
send whatever you want from your home BBS, thereby keeping it all
straight.
BTW, if you have a good and proper network and know how to use it you can
go node hopping all over the world and read things that never get to the
GBR network. Right, not every bit goes everywhere, no point in flooding
every BBS with foreign language bulls, it would become Babylon.
FYI, I'm not only more amusing than a TV show, more often than not I
engage in the same stuff you do and much more. How unfortunate you don't
know the real me, you're just a bit prejudiced by the very bias you spoke
of. Hmmm, I guess the subject "erroneous" does fit after all even if this
has nothing whatsoever to do with BIOS. (;->) Maybe a proper TO field is
in order?
That reminds me, maybe you guys could read up on some of the packet
gripes posted on the Southgate ARC web site. One of particular interest
is about the automatic download programs such as Winpack and how when
improperly used cause packeteers to miss most of the traffic and complain
"there's nothing of interest around here anymore". A big part of it is
some stubbornly sticking to the TO and subject fields of long outdated
topics after the thread has changed. This results in downloading
something completely foreign to what was intended, such as this post when
someone is looking for information on a computer BIOS and what it does,
the original topic now long gone.
