Gosh which IBM do you have that is pre Bill Gates? Given that the 1st PC
that IBM sold (with 64kram and cassette tape IO) had Billy G's software
running on it you must have some kind of System 34 or System 36 mini or
even a System 370/168 :-) Now you know why IBM is known as Big Blue by
older computer users.


The only place I see back quote used regularly in English is when applied
to command parameters to the Unix editor SED. I have seen some American
text in ASCII where instead of double quotes "like these" they use a back
quote and forward quote `like this'.
