I've got an old amplifier that I'd like to convert to 6 Meter use.

It's a sweep tube amp, with 3-6KD6's, in a grounded grid arrangement, with
an untuned input (.01 disc into Cathode, and an RF choke to ground) and a PI
network for output. The PI output circuit currently has about a 30pf
variable for tune, 6 turns #14 @ 1", and what looks like a 140pf variable
for load.

I cut the coil in half, and pumped 10 watts @ 50 MHz into it, but only got
10 watts output into my dummy load.

What am I doing wrong, besides trying to make a silk purse out of a sows
ear?
