I am the ORIGINATOR of the ORIGINAL "keyboard relics" question.

It might get confusing because my name is Andy as well, but I'm the
original :-)

I have still not seen any good reason as to why on all keyboards I
have used in the PC world, a reason for having a key in the top lefthand
corner with 3 symbols on them.

These being the ` ª Ý symbols.

They appear to have no place in any PC working environment.

These symbols would normally be access they other extended ascii
keystrokes or dedicated ACSII editors such as The Draw or via F Keys
in symbolic source code editors.

And yet a key is provided for apparently no reason.

Perhaps its a key that is meant to be odd for the purposes of
remapped keyboards (ANSI) when others have been already used for other
functions ?

As an aside, I have NEVER used the WIN95 key (or whatever its called)
for ANY purpose. It seems to be just a way of selling more keyboards :-)

I'll have to try it sometime and see what it does :-) !!
