Use of Hand-held cell phone ban in ZL

From the first of November 2009 the use of a handheld cell phone while
driving a motor vehicle is banned & instant fines are issued with demerit
points on the driver's license.

I much prefer to see the other drivers coming towards me with both hands
on the steering wheel rather then one holding the phone to the ear or
looking at TXT messages. It is allowed to use properly installed
hands-free cell phone kits in car (for those who simply can't get off the
phone).

You might wonder why it took this long to become law since cell phones
have been in ZL for a long time. So long that the first network, all
analogue, has been turned off. We have CDMA (a dying network since the VKs
are stopping using it) & GSM (pretty much the EU standard & dominant in
the world?).
