Hello those of you , who joined in opinions of Sir Francis Drake.
I finally today, got some great URLs to visit, as well emails from
some knowledable people, to give me insight into him and him
onboard his ship<s> as captain. Confirmed some other information.
I wondered if he was really over religious, and now I know he was
as confirmed that there was more then one time in the day, the
entire ship's company would join him in prayers.
In relationship with all onboard, it certainly showed in an old
history text, where he was wounded and instead of pressing with
the attack, they withdrew to get him medical attention. He knew
them all and some were friends and partners in these ventures
and friends of friends also came along, too as it seems with the
final day the comments.
I was amazed at his treatment of captives...so mnay accounts of
captives dining and then set free.... in some cases minus the
prescious shipments from their ships <g>.
Well have to go .... but looking still and at other things;
73 Pete VE3WBZ
PS: I know now what it felt to have a 100ft mast fall on you
as well what looks like a cannonball thru the sides...bummer
