Hi Ian and all,

Thanks for the correction, a league is indeed 3 miles which gives Puss
some awfully long legs. Eh, Jules Verne wrote before the French decided
to screw up Earth related measurements the English had down pat. Get
this, the basis of the system is Biblical, goes back to the Hebrew Cabala
and the holy numbers. The number of Earth is 6 for good reason, every
time and distance measurement comes out smoothly when calculations are
based on 6. On the other hand you end up with a string of decimals when
10 is used, metric sucks when it comes to doing the math!

Oh, 20,000km under the sea is just as preposterous but 20,000 Leagues
makes a great title. (;->)
