Hello

Ah, David - even interrested in garden birds... Well, keep
it up...for packets sake.

But in a read to Vintage radio? I myself am astonished which
interrest (vibrance is to much a word yet) is given to -
best expressed as the WS 19 syndrome.
This is probably the best known set - and at the time of
need -No, not the Military , BUT the Hams...

I am in wonder still, there is more traffic for this
phenomenon than there is for the whole of packet. ( But just
now , there seems to be a spurt of mindfull electrons here -
I wonder )

I have written a short peace of this on SA-Packet , and low
and behold , there was an answer. Theese Mil-Sets seem to
emanate a fluidum which otherwise Ham-Radio has lost. They ,
with their tubes delight, instill a world of communicative
feeling , which is lost in the multicircuit CPU.

And right at this moment I have a WS 38 AFV on my
table...not to work , but just too look at.
The fluidum will never be replaced , I am afraid. But ,
nevertheless modern tech is not possible with these relicts.
But , in the times of declining Ham- interrest there seems
to me a upsurge in the Miltary swop...style. Or maybe more
apt :
Surplus.
Maybe its because many of us started that way...that what
was available at the time...So, the wars have been good for
something, Eh Comrade?
If only for some comms Nostalgia - but increasing steadily -
which , sorry to say , cannot be uttered for Ham - radio...

Think about that. Use your 10 percent of grey matter.
And mind you, NO Ham licence is needed for the "plain"
collector. Which even makes it more courious...
